Exercise #421: The "High Ball Challenge"
OBJECTIVE:
The "High Ball Challenge" lets your players work on attacking and defending against high balls.
DESCRIPTION:
Place two teams of four players in the penalty area. One team is the defense, and the other is the offense. Attackers may start anywhere in the penalty area, but defenders must start in the goal area. The service alternates from either end of the penalty area. Points are awarded as follows: - 5 points for each goal scored from a header
- 2 points for any other goals scored
- 1 point for each cross cleared decisively via a header or volley
- 1 point for each cross caught or boxed by the keeper
After four balls have been served from each end, the two groups switch roles and play again.

"I just wanted to say, after reading the latest essay on match analysis, that nothing else matches the professional nature of your site. It is extremely efficient and useful and this is spoken by someone who has been a part of the game for over forty years."

"Your web site is terrific. I'm a relatively new coach and the exercises and drills are going to be a big help this spring season."
