Exercise #447: 1v1 Sieve
OBJECTIVE:
1v1 Sieve is an excellent exercise for your players to work on 1v1 attacking and defending techniques.
DESCRIPTION:
Set up three to five 10x10 yard grids in a row. Place a line of attackers at one end, and provide a ball for each player in line. Place a defender in each grid.
An attacker enters the first grid and tries to beat the first defender, who cannot leave the area. If successful, he moves into the next grid and takes on the next defender, and so on. Every time he beats a defender he gets a point. As attackers progress, they gain points. Defenders only have to knock the ball out of the grid area to stop the attack. Each time a defender stops an attack, the attacker who lost the ball becomes the defender for that grid and the successful defender goes to the end of the attacking line. The first player to earn a predetermined number of points wins.

"I just wanted to say, after reading the latest essay on match analysis, that nothing else matches the professional nature of your site. It is extremely efficient and useful and this is spoken by someone who has been a part of the game for over forty years."
