Exercise #215: Redirection Passing Pressure Training

OBJECTIVE:

Redirection Passing Pressure Training focuses on your players' passing technique, agility, and fitness.

DESCRIPTION:

Four players (one in each corner) are in a 20 x 20 yard grid. A bag is in the middle of the grid, next to a working player in the middle. Two players on the opposite corners each have a ball.

One player on the corner passes the ball in the direction of the middle player, who jumps over the bag and plays the ball to an open player on an adjacent corner. He then jumps back over the bag, receives the other ball, and plays it to the fourth player. Play continues in this fashion for one minute, and then all players rotate positions.

VARIANTS:

1. Play one or two touch.
2. Require all players to receive the ball using only the inside or the outside of the foot.
3. Move the servers closer and have them serve the balls with their hands to work on volleys.
