Exercise #306: High Balls Over a Bag

OBJECTIVE:
|
This exercise is excellent for increasing your keeper's vertical jump to make high ball saves.
|
DESCRIPTION:
|
Place a soccer bag on the field and position your goalkeeper a few steps behind it and facing you (you should be several steps on the other side of the bag). The keeper should run a few steps forward, and jump over the bag. Immediately from his landing position, he should jump up to touch a high ball back to the coach who served him a ball just as he was landing from jumping over the bag. Have the keeper run back behind the bag and repeat several times.
